Developer Operations Engineer Job Details

NCSA (Next College Student Athlete) is growing our Software Development team and we are looking for someone to help build the deploy process, security practices, AWS infrastructure and administration of external facing websites.

Ideally, you will be comfortable working and improving an AWS infrastructure, building scripts and systems to deploy and monitor that infrastructure and administering Drupal and WordPress deployments.

You’ll be working with a collaborative team of QA engineers, designers, developers, and product managers, so you’ll need to be able to articulate your decisions and take feedback into the next iteration. Want to work with a great team to make students’ lives better? Great!

Responsibilities:

  • Optimize the performance and reliability of our infrastructure
  • Build automated solutions for the creation and maintenance of our distributed cloud infrastructure
  • Design and implement system, application and infrastructure monitoring
  • Proactively ensure security and integrity of production systems and applications
  • Design, implement and support the build, test and deployment processes needed by the developers
  • Automate scaling and de-scaling of server instances to handle current load
  • Assisting with Drupal and WordPress administration, including some light development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or combined with related experience)
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in Developer Operations or System Engineering
  • Strong experience with AWS EC2, RDS, Etc.
  • Solid understanding of internet security practices
  • Experience with SEO best practices
  • Experience with a high-level coding or scripting language (ex. Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, etc.)
  • Desire to create efficient and clean code
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – we are a team-oriented company so experience communicating with both technical and non-technical team members is important

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Jira or a similar issue tracking system
  • Familiarity with Git and standard source control methods
  • A team-player, always looking to make things better and easier for a co-worker
  • Experience working within cross-functional AGILE teams in a collaborative development environment

Test Automation Engineer  Job Details

NCSA (Next College Student Athlete) is growing our Software Development team and we are looking for someone to help drive the testing process, architect test design, implement automation and mold test methodologies.

Ideally, you will be comfortable designing and building automation suites from the ground up for multiple applications and setting the patterns to be used in the future. We have the applications, development team and QA team, you bring the tools to take our test automation up a level or three.

You’ll be working with a collaborative team of QA engineers, designers, developers, and product managers, so you’ll need to be able to articulate your decisions and take feedback into the next iteration. Want to work with a great team to make students’ lives better? Great!

  • Author, execute and maintain manual and automated test suites and test cases
  • Design and script automation framework which can run use-cases, scenarios and situations end to end 
  • Analyze the results of test runs and investigate root causes and solutions

  • Create end-to-end test plans for testable features and components
  • Contribute to design discussions for new features and products
  • Write and maintain bug documentation
  • Develop internal tools to aid in testing and development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (or combined with related experience)
  • 2 to 4 years of experience within QA and/or development teams
  • Strong experience in at least one test framework (ex. Selenium, Junit, Rspec, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of various testing methodologies
  • Experience with web application development, including HTML, CSS and JS
  • Experience with a high-level coding or scripting language (ex. Java, Ruby, PHP, Python, etc.)
  • Desire to create efficient and clean code
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills – we are a team-oriented company so experience communicating with both technical and non-technical team members is important

Qualifications:

·         Bachelor degree

·         Portfolio of relevant work for review

·         3+ years of digital product design, interaction design, user experience design or product design for mobile and web applications in a software development environment

·         Willing to work through the entire design process, from ideation and whiteboard sketches through build and deploy

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Expert experience in creating fully responsive digital design solutions

·         Strong conceptualization, visual communication and presentation abilities

·         Strong written and communication skills

·         Solid understanding of user experience and user interface best practices

·         Working knowledge of information architecture and usability principles
