Project Manager Job Details

A Project Manager at NCSA is the primary interface between the product team, business owners and development team in an Agile environment.   As a Project Manager you will be facilitating execution and communication around multiple projects.  You will also be responsible for communicating functional and technical requirements to the development team as determined by the business owners, product team and NCSA user community. 

Responsibilities

  • ?Work closely with the VP of Engineering, CFO and other key stakeholders to define the roadmap for all platform systems, including but not limited to payment systems, accounting systems and other essential third party integrations
  • Identify opportunities for enhancements that will strengthen our core platform and reduce risk for the business
  • Evaluate third party services as needed, recommending vendors and implementations
  • Create necessary documentation, process flows, indexing around platform tools
  • Manage the backlog, regularly meeting with key stakeholders to identify problems or opportunities and vet solutions
  • Define and follow executive approval process on new platform development to reduce risk to the business
  • Facilitate collaboration between the product team and business owners to translate business requirements into functional requirements. 
  • Create project work plans and budgets based on pre-determined scope
  • Facilitate communication with business owners & product team throughout each project
  • Write and refine user stories
  • Drive execution of stories and projects alongside the development team
  • Verify completed stories
  • Report and track ROI of efforts
  • Lead retrospectives as necessary

Qualifications

  • A BA from an accredited university
  • 2-4 years of experience in software project management
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodology, techniques and skills required to effectively manage scope, schedule, costs, communication, resources, quality and risk
  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal.  
  • Communicate effectively with the development team, business owners and executives
  • Superior analysis, problem solving, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Outstanding facilitator
  • Understand user needs
  • Proficiency in project management software tools
  • PMI PMP preferred, but not required
  • Experience agile methodologies preferred

QA Engineer Job Details

As part of the software development team, the QA Engineer is responsible for testing user stories through the agile process, ensuring a quality product and efficient process specifically for Web based applications.  Through interaction at every stage of the product development cycle the QA engineer drives a process that produces testable features within agreed upon time constraints.

For this role we are looking for someone with solid experience in QA process, good SQL skills, and a strong understanding in the principles of SEO.  You will be expected to spend a majority of your time in writing test cases, hands-on manual testing and working closely with the dev team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on manual QA tasks across multiple web and mobile applications
  • Collaborate closely with the dev team to drive out use cases, tests cases and features
  • Collaborate with development and product owners to drive continuous improvement and quality 
  • Passion for constant improvement in quality of product and uncovering hard to find scenarios and bugs. Attention to detail and a knack at finding edge cases
  • Continually adds Business Value to Agile Teams through Proactive Participation in all the phases of Agile development
  • Develop test plans, cases, steps and data requirements from user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Execute tests, record bugs, and assist the development team in driving resolution.
  • Provide traceability from business requirements and technical specifications to test conditions and problem reports.
  • Execute manual/automated testing following test plan/strategy to ensure defect identification and remediation prior to implementation into production
  • Document test results, clearly identify defects and track defect from reporting to resolution stages
  • Perform functional, regression, stress, load, integration, and production testing
  • Collect metrics to measure testing progress & quality outcomes
  • Prepare and communicate summary of testing reports
  • Conduct UAT demo’s for product team
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff in various technical and business roles such as software development, end users, management and other quality assurance staff

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of Experience in software Quality Assurance
  • Functional knowledge of software development practices, including Agile methodology
  • Demonstrated knowledge of agile software engineering design principles, QA testing tools, processes and best practices
  • Strong QA analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to test web applications, mobile applications, APIs, third-party integrations and data-processing
  • Understands and applies procedures, regulations, and policies related to areas of specialized expertise
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a strong communicator
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and work with cross-functional teams of contributors and subject matter experts
  • Deep experience with SQL
  • Experience working on a website or product where SEO and Organic Traffic are a top priority
  • Experience optimizing SEO on a Drupal CMS a plus
  • Basic/Intermediate understanding of Google Analytics
  • Previous experience with Google Webmaster Tools (now Google Search Console) a plus
  • Previous experience with Google Tag Manager a plus
  • Experience and or enjoyment of youth and collegiate sport a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management and follow up skills
  • Selenium knowledge a plus
  • Highly self-motivated
  • QA Automation experience is a big plus
  • Experience with Jira a plus
  • Experience with Test Rail a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
